EXCURSIONS in the Bucharest surroundings at the oldest monasteries:
Snagov (1364) on the island of the lake where is buried Dracula,
Tiganesti (17th century), nuns monastery on the Maicilor lake,
Calderusani (1632) on the Calderusani lake where is an interesting museum of icons on wood, some of the most famous romanian painters, Nicolae Grigorescu, in his pre-Renoir period,
and at last at the MOGOSOAIA Palace (1702) symbol of the Romanian architecture (Brancovan style) with some Italian elements, in one day.

Another day, a visit is recommended to the following monasteries:
Pasarea (1813), on the island of the Pustnicu lake, nuns monastery with impressive frescoes,
Cernica (1608), on the Cernica lake, with great paintings on the walls,
and Balamuci (1627), outside of the 1752 mural and carved wooden iconostasis covered with gold leaf, the church is also home to a shrine with fragments of wood of the Cross and relics of saints.

Other days, in Transylvania at DRACULA's castle and on the way at the spectacular and wonderful neo-renaissance PELES castle (1883), former royal summer residence, one of the most beautiful in Europe... with car and driver.
